How to connect Figma in Think A.M. Builder Architect

1. Make sure the connected account can access the file

Before starting, confirm that the Figma account you plan to use can actually open the file or prototype that will be analyzed. The OAuth connection follows normal Figma permissions.

• Open the file in Figma using the same account you will use during connection.
• If the file is private, request access before starting.
• If you switch accounts in the popup, the analysis will run with the selected account.

2. Paste the file URL into the design source field

In the Wizard, paste the base Figma file URL into the design source field. You do not need to paste a personal token. The URL alone is enough for Builder to know which file should be analyzed after authorization.

• Use the main design or file URL.
• Avoid broken links or intermediate pages.
• If the link is valid, the Wizard will already capture it as the initial design reference.

3. Click “Connect Figma”

After entering the URL, click the “Connect Figma” button. Builder will open a browser window so you can authorize access with your Figma account.

• If the browser blocks popups, allow the new window to open.
• You do not need to create or paste a PAT.
• This step replaces the older manual token flow.

4. Approve the connection in the Figma window

In the popup opened by Figma, confirm the correct account and approve the authorization. When the flow finishes, you will be redirected back to Builder.

• If a consent screen appears, review it and approve.
• If the wrong account appears, cancel and try again with the right one.
• Once you return to Builder, the connection should be linked to your user session.

5. Check whether live connection is active

After returning to the Wizard, the Figma connection card should stop behaving like a simple URL reference. That is the sign that the account is ready for live analysis.

• The “Figma live connection” card should indicate a successful connection.
• The mode should no longer remain at “URL reference only”.
• If the connection does not appear, refresh the page and confirm the popup completed successfully.

6. Start the async analysis

With the connection active, click “Start async analysis” so Builder can fetch frames, routes, and components from the file. This is the moment where the flow stops being superficial and starts reflecting the design more faithfully.

• The analysis will use your OAuth connection to access the file.
• Results are usually richer when the file is well organized into frames and sections.
• After that, you can move on to the next Wizard step.

7. What to do if something goes wrong

If the button opens but the connection does not finish, the most common causes are missing file access, blocked popups, or the wrong Figma session. If the page says OAuth is not configured, that is something the application team must fix.

• Confirm the connected account has access to the file.
• Allow browser popups.
• Retry the connection with the correct account.
• If you see “OAuth is not configured”, contact support or the environment administrator.
